This supplementary information contains 4 excel files with data. The content of the files is explained below:&#13;
&#13;
“1 - Cell composition and element content” contains the data behind Figures 2, 3 and 4 and additional element contents. Additionally, it contains the element content of the anodes, cathodes and separator foils.&#13;
&#13;
“2 - Black mass yield and relation black mass share to coating share” contains the data behind Figures 5. &#13;
&#13;
“3 - Particle size distribution of black mass” contains the particle size distributions gained by sieve and by laser diffraction analysis. Additionally, it contains the corresponding density distributions.&#13;
&#13;
“4 - Black mass composition and element recoveries” contains the data behind Figure 6 and 7. Additionally it contains the content and recovery of further elements.
