This supplementary information contains 7 excel files with data. The content of the files is explained below:

“1 - Specific stress energy” contains the data referred to in chapter 3.2
“2 - Degree of liberation” contains the data behind Table 2.
“3 – Particle size distribution and black mass yield” contains the data referred to in chapter 3.2 and in Table 3. 
“4 - Particle size distribution of black mass” contains the data behind Figure 3. Additionally, it contains the corresponding density distributions.
“5 - Black mass composition” contains the data behind Figure 4. 
“6 - Recovery and product composition” contains the data behind Figures 5 and 6. Additionally, it contains the recovery curves and product compositions for all cell and discharge types for separator, electrode and casing product.
