Abstract of the dataset
dc.description.abstract

The reported data correspond to the following publication: Tom Goldberg, Volker Herdegen, Andreas S. Braeuer “Isobaric vapor-liquid equilibria of binary and multicomponent organic carbonate mixtures (DMC, EMC, DEC, EC, and PC) at 101.3, 25.0, and 5.0 kPa” Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 2026 All measurements were carried out using the all-glass dynamic recirculation still “Labodest VLE 602” (i-Fischer Engineering GmbH, Germany). Detailed information about the materials, experimental setup, experimental procedure, and standard uncertainties can be found in the associated publication. The file “Vapor_pressure_data.txt” contains vapor pressure data for each of the five pure organic carbonates: dimethyl carbonate (DMC), ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC), diethyl carbonate (DEC), ethylene carbonate (EC), and propylene carbonate (PC). The file “Binary_VLE_data.txt” contains binary vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for all 10 binary combinations of the five organic carbonates. The measurements were performed at 101.3 kPa and 25.0 kPa, with the exception of the PC–EC system. For PC–EC, measurements were performed at 25.0 kPa and 5.0 kPa due to observed thermal degradation at temperatures above approximately 483–493 K. The file “Multicomponent_VLE_data.txt” contains ternary VLE data for the systems DMC–EMC–DEC, DMC–DEC–PC, and EMC–PC–EC, as well as quinary VLE data.
