Traffic Light Data of Hamburg collected in September and October 2023 (Observations from SensorThings API)
Contributing person | Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg (LSBG)
Documentation of the data | The data consists of SensorThings Observations for different Datastreams: primary signal, secondary signal, cycle second and program observations. Furthermore, detector observations for traffic participants such as cars, cyclists and pedestrians are included. The data was collected using MQTT clients. In addition, we used an HTTP polling script to supplement dropped Observations. Nonetheless, it should be considered during the processing of this dataset that the completeness of the Observations can not be fully guaranteed, due to instabilities in the Traffic Lights Data system.

Underlying research object | Traffic Lights in Hamburg
Project abstract | In Germany, the bicycle is becoming increasingly important as an environmentally friendly means of transportation. At the same time, however, traffic lights are often geared towards motorized private transport. In the PrioBike research project, we are developing a green wave app for Hamburg to enable cyclists to travel faster, more comfortably and more safely through the city with fewer stops.
