Raw data of the cyclic tests on the beam specimens

Abstract

This dataset contains the raw data of the cyclic tests on the beam specimens. Two concrete mixes were investigated (C30 and C80). The specimens are named with the concrete type followed by a roman number (e.g. C30-II). The specimens were loaded with a sinusoidal load, oscillating between a relative minimum and a maximum load level. The minimum load level was aimed to be 5% of the compressive strength and the maximum load level 75%. An exception was beam C80-VI. A maximum load level of 65 % was chosen here. Each beam was from a different concrete batch and for determining the compressive strength of the respective concrete batch, three cyclindrical specimens were cast together with each beam. Before starting the beam test, the compressive strength was determined on the cylindrical specimens. In a first step, the beams were prestressed. Afterwards a vertical prestressing was applied to achieve a mean loading in the specimens. In the third step, the fatigue test was started.
