The service OpARA (operated under the Internet address opara.zih.tu-dresden.de) is used to archive digital research data and to optionally publish them. The service is offered to researchers of the participating saxon universities.

The data stored in OpARA are preserved by the operators for at least ten years or longer in their original form (archiving).

The users are responsible for the content of the data stored in OpARA. Data published as Open Access are freely accessible on the Internet and can be downloaded anonymously by anyone.

Members of the universities can use OpARA with their institutional account. Personal data is obtained from the central identity management systems of the universities and processed for registered users only and only for the provision of the service. A transmission to third parties does not take place. For unregistered users no personal data will be collected.

The service is certified for data with the protection category "very high". In addition, the general privacy policy of the TU Dresden applies.
