OpARA metadata schema
Compatibility of the OpARA metadata schema to RADAR and DataCite
The OpARA metadata schema was derived from the RADAR metadata schema which in turn is derived from the DataCite metadata schema. Therefore, the OpARA metadata schema is compatible with those of RADAR and DataCite.
Technical notes for filling in the fields.
Some input fields must be filled in.
Some input fields can only be filled in under certain conditions.
Some input fields are already pre-filled with certain values. These fields can be completed or the pre-filled values removed from them.
For some input fields only values from a given list can be selected.
If one or more of the above circumstances apply to an input field, this is noted and explained if necessary.
For a complete submission only a few metadata fields are required. However, in order to ensure good discoverability and reusability of the data, as well as for long-term preservation of the data, a comprehensive description with metadata is advantageous.
Description of the form fields on the submission pages
Open Access
If the submission takes place in an Open Access collection, it must be decided whether the submission will be published as Open Access and can therefore be freely downloaded by all users. If the collection is not Open Access, the submission cannot be released as Open Access either.
