The OPARA service was recently upgraded to a new technical platform. You are visiting the outdated OPARA website. Please use https://opara.zih.tu-dresden.de/ for new data submissions. Previously stored data will be migrated in near future and then the old version of OPARA will finally be shut down. Existing DOIs for data publications remain valid.

The project "Agglomeration Applying High Intensity Mixing (Mechano-Fusion)" is part of the priority program 2289 "Hetero-Aggregates" funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Hetero-aggregates are created by the dry particle coating process called mechano-fusion. The surface of larger host particles is coated with micron- or submicron-sized guest particles, an ordered mixture of guest particles on the surface of host particles is formed. Specialized functionality of the created hetero-aggregates is the a result of hetero-contact formation during the coating. Intensive characterization of the coating structures using 2D and 3D imaging and correlative worflows by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray micro- and nano-computed tomography (micro-CT and nano-CT) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) is expected to unravel mechanisms of underlying micro processes (e.g. agglomeration, de-agglomeration, mixing) during the coating. Toghether with stocastic modeling this will enable to tailer functionalities of hetero-aggregates even better.

This project is open access and publicly accessible.
